Return to the Gallery "War Machine Completed Cosplay Armor"

This Costume is the recreation armor of the War Machine Marvel Character.
This Costume armor was built form scratch by me in my garage while
trying to recycle as much as I could of the common items found in
and around my home. For instance, cardboard. Card paper to be more precise as it is smoother and more flexible than corrugated cardboard.
I used soda bottles, assorted and numerous other plastic bottles,
food containers, cereal boxes, a neat material called “Cool Foam,”
(Mostly used to ‘Skin the Armor,’) Styrofoam, cushion foam,
foam board, Spackle, magic clay and celuclay. A boat load of hot glue, velcro, elastic, a rubber car floor mat, Nylon mesh material,
Aluminum flats for the arm and leg frames. A gallon of gray spray
paint primer, Metallic Blue spray paint, Silver leafing paint. 50+
stovepipe screws, washers and nuts, metal D rings, click lights and
a pair of old shoes I modified for just the right look. The list goes
on and on, but you get the idea of the ingenuity that turned common
household materials into this remarkable costume recreation.
With Iron-Man Comic books and internet photos of the fantastic
-Stan Winston- Armor from the blockbuster Iron-Man movie as
my guide, I worked hard to create my masterpiece. After 6 months of
hard work, sweat and beers, I had finally fashioned my complete “War Machine” costume armor.

This costume has won the 66th annual World Con (Denvention3): Workmanship Award, Novice Category and the Dragon Con: Best in show, Journeyman Category. Not too shabby for my first real competition costume huh?
